As the summer of 2008 draws to an end, we extend our congratulations to all those who received their exam results, those who graduated and to everyone else we hope you’ve had a nice summer. Now with the onset of Ramadan in September, there will be a bustle of Iftar dinners, charity events and the like. IYF will also be running around preparing an Iftar dinner, especially after last year’s dinner when over 150 of you joined us! You will find all Iraqi events listed here, in your IYF newsletter!

Nisaba Theatre Group presents:
The fight between good and evil has no limits in time or space. Join us and watch our play, and we will take on a journey that tells a story of the 8th day of the week, how intruders create chaos, even among the oldest order in history and time.
The play is written by the well known Iraqi poet Salah Hassan. Adapted and Directed by the Iraqi theatre pioneer Ahlam Arab.
This is an effort to show the talent of the Arabic community and the artistic abilities of our youth living in London.
The play will have an English story teller and subtitles for our English speaking audience.
Come and enjoy this family night out with us, the cast and the people who are working hard to combine entertainment and community work. Why Minority Rights are the Key to Pluralism and Peace in the Middle East
Armenians, Assyrians, Alawites, Baha'is, Baluchis, Berbers, Bidoons, Copts, Jews, Kurds, Maronites, Mandaeans, Turkemans, Yazidis, (even Shiites and Sunnis in some countries) are all minorities living in the region for hundreds of years, but never before shared the same platform. The IYF is an organisation founded in 2005 by young British Iraqis with the aim of uniting Iraqi youth within the UK by encouraging debate and attempting to combat apathy, increasing awareness of the current situation in Iraq and strengthening ties between Iraqis in the UK and in Iraq.
